Michael J. DuPont
Michael J. DuPont is the managing shareholder at WFJ and works primarily with WFJ’s Construction Group. He is a problem solver and passionately assists WFJ’s clients in assessing risk and resolving disputes no matter where the issue arises. Mike has assisted our clients in resolving countless public and private commercial construction disputes utilizing the resources of WFJ and its affiliated law firms around the world.

Mike is also a leader in the development and service provided by our On-Call Consultants team which provides timely legal access to our corporate clients, as well as thousands of individuals and numerous small businesses throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Through our team of On-Call Consultants WFJ has established a go-to help desk for our clients no matter the legal issue involved.
WFJ is committed to client education, and Mike actively participates with our clients to educate them on industry standard best practices. Our investment in client education stems from the belief that a better educated client makes for a better served client. Mike is an active speaker at various client education functions and has assisted WFJ in developing an on-line database of client-centric educational materials and forms, as well as the Client Extranet that provides WFJ clients with 24/7 access to their legal files. Through our Client Extranet we keep our clients educated and informed.
Mike is a graduate of St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN and William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, MN. He is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota.
He co-authored articles A Synopsis of Revisions to Article Nine of the Uniform Commercial Code, Business Credit, July/August 2001, and Contract Formation and the Impact of Contingent Payment Provisions, Business Credit, March 2002. His involvement in notable case law includes Hurtig v. Gabrielson, 525 N.W. 2d 612 (Minn. App. 1995), and Carolina Holdings Midwest, LLC v. James A. Copouls, et al., 658 N.W. 2d 236 (Minn. App. 2003).
Mike is a devoted family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. When not serving his clients, Mike can be found coaching his youngest son’s hockey team.
